Our Story

Royal Avalon Parties was established by co-owners Sarah Knight and Shae Williams in 2021. Both of these young women are highly-trained professionals who have a passion for music and spreading magic wherever they go! This company was founded upon a beautiful friendship; one that began through their love of performing. Sarah and Shae both have an extensive background working with children as well as volunteering, particularly with the Ronald McDonald House, Children's Wish Foundation, Beagle Paws and Stella's Circle to name a few. Through this platform, both owners look forward to making connections within the community and volunteering wherever they can! (Read more about this through the "Volunteering" page). Sarah and Shae would like to extend a HUGE thank you to everyone who has supported them thus far and cannot wait to see where this journey will lead!

Sarah Knight,
Co-Owner

Sarah Knight is a recent graduate of the Bachelor of Music program at Memorial University and a proud Co-Owner of Royal Avalon Parties. Sarah first began her training in piano at the age of seven and went on to take lessons in voice, dance and acting for several years after. Sarah always knew that she wanted to be a music teacher and opened her business Sarah’s Stars at the age of seventeen. This performing arts program gave youth in rural communities the opportunity to learn about musical theatre and was active from 2017 to 2021. During this time, Sarah’s Stars performed at the local Kiwanis Music Festival, held fundraisers for Ronald McDonald House, hosted Sarah’s Stars Summer Camp and put off various productions. In 2019, Sarah directed and produced Beauty and the Beast Jr with a cast of 26 members from Old Perlican to St. John's. Beauty and the Beast Jr was held at the Sheila NaGeira Theatre in Carbonear and was an enormous success with two sold-out shows!

Aside from her business endeavours, Sarah loves to perform and has been involved in the following productions: Annie, Nunsense & The Sound Of Music (Gussied Up Productions, 2013-2016); How’s About A Time? (Madrock Theatre Troupe, 2016); Our Divas Do Christmas (TaDa Events, 2016) and Scrooge (Peter MacDonald Productions, 2022). As for solo pursuits, Sarah's proudest moments include being a featured performer at the Planned Parenthood Annual Charity Gala in 2019 and most recently her fourth-year graduation recital, My Heart Wants to Sing.

Sarah currently spends her time as a Music Education student at Memorial University while teaching private lessons with CFPA and Halliday Music Studio as well as attending princess events on the side. Sarah has a passion for working with children and finds so much joy in their company. In saying this, she looks forward to soon achieving her lifelong goal of being a music teacher and continuing to inspire little minds!

Shae Williams, One of the Co-Owners of Royal Avalon Parties is currently working as a Licensed Practical Nurse and is enrolled in her second year of the Bachelor in Science and Nursing through the Centre for Nursing Studies! Shae realized she wanted to be a nurse because of her love for helping people & making a difference, no matter how small! Besides her love for nursing, Shae enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She also has a large soft spot for all animals, which is shown through her volunteer work with Beagle Paws! Shae has extensive experience working with kids & has grown to love spending time with young children throughout the past 6 years and is excited to continue that journey as a business owner this time! Shae has had years of performance training including 10 years of vocal lessons, participation in the Mount Pearl Show Choir, Shallaway Youth Choir as well as many community choirs and events. Throughout her time in choirs, she has been very grateful to have opportunities to travel and see the world, which quickly became another passion of hers. Because of this, Shae's biggest goal is to travel with Team Broken Earth & help give back by providing care to those who really need it.

Along with extra-curriculars, Shae has spent countless hours volunteering with organizations such as Beagle Paws, Stella's Circle, St. Patrick’s Mercy Home, the Children’s Wish Foundation, Nevaeh's Lemonade Stand, as well as a variety of community events including the Frosty Festival. Her time spent volunteering has shown her the importance of helping those in need and has taught her compassion, kindness and persistence. In the future, Shae is unsure where her nursing career will take her but as long as she is able to help make a difference she will enjoy her career as a nurse! Shae is very excited to have this wonderful opportunity with her best friend, Sarah, and cannot wait to see where their small, local business will take them!

Hannah Green,
Cast Member

Hannah Green is a third-year social work student at Memorial University who is a recent addition to the Royal Avalon Parties team! Through her time as a social work student, she has recognized the impact of community and creativity and applies that to her everyday practice. By being involved in the arts and community work Hannah values the wonders music and dance can have on someone's mental health. She is an advocate for mental health awareness and hopes to continue her education to one day become a peer support facilitator.

Hannah is an active member of her community as she has volunteered with The Helping Hand Thrift Store, Conception Bay North Skating Club, and Relay for Life; to name a few.

In her youth, Hannah was an active part of the arts programs in her community. She is a classically trained flute player with over nine years of experience in both solo and band playing. Hannah also has fifteen years of dance experience with Catherine’s Dance Studio in Bay Roberts, Newfoundland. She was trained in tap, jazz, broadway jazz, contemporary, ballet, and Irish tap. In addition, she has thirteen years of figure skating experience in both solo competitive skating and synchronized skating. Now in her adulthood, she continues to expand her musical experience and skates with the Conception Bay North Skating Club’s adult two-synchro team.

When she's not skating, Hannah is an avid baker and spends most of her time in the kitchen experimenting with new recipes! From a young age, Hannah shadowed her family in the kitchen learning their tips and tricks for all the family recipes. Many years later, Hannah now returns the favour to her family by making them the guinea pigs for all her experiments!

Her goal in the future is to combine both her social work and baking experience to develop a peer support group that practices mindfulness through baking!
